Aceh Barat Showcases Its Investment Potential in Medan
MEDAN - The Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Agency (DPMPTSP) of Aceh, in collaboration with the DPMPTSP of Aceh Barat, organized the Aceh Business Forum (ABF) Series - Aceh Barat in Medan, on November 30, 2023. This event was the first collaboration between the DPMPTSP of Aceh and the DPMPTSP of Aceh Barat, aiming to promote the investment potential of Aceh Barat to prospective investors and business actors in Medan and its surrounding areas.
The event featured speakers who were competent and experienced in their fields, such as the Head of DPMPTSP of Aceh, Marthunis, ST., D.E.A, DPMPTSP of Aceh Barat, Edi Juanda, Head of BAPPEDA of Aceh, Dr. T.A. Dadek, SH, MH, the Rector of UTU, Prof. Dr. Drs. Ishak Hasan, M.Si, and the President Director of PT. MIFA Bersaudara, Ricky Nelson. They presented various potentials and opportunities for investment in Aceh Barat, especially in the sectors of industry, agriculture, plantation, and mining, as well as providing information about the facilities and incentives offered by the local government.
In his speech, the Head of DPMPTSP of Aceh, Marthunis, ST., D.E.A, said that Aceh Barat had a huge investment potential, but it was not well-known by investors and business actors. Therefore, through this event, he hoped to attract their interest and attention to invest in Aceh Barat. He also hoped that in the future, more districts would be able to collaborate in a similar way, so that the potentials in the regions could be explored and promoted to prospective investors and business actors.
“We want to introduce Aceh Barat as one of the attractive and profitable investment destinations in Aceh. Aceh Barat has various advantages, such as the availability of land, infrastructure, natural resources, human resources, and local government support. We also offer various facilities and incentives, such as ease of licensing, tax exemption, capital assistance, technical guidance, and others. We hope that with this event, investors and business actors can see and take advantage of the investment opportunities in Aceh Barat,” said Marthunis.
Meanwhile, the Acting Regent of Aceh Barat, Drs Mahdi Efendi, said that the local government continued to strive to create a conducive and competitive investment climate in Aceh Barat. He appreciated the collaboration between the DPMPTSP of Aceh and the DPMPTSP of Aceh Barat in organizing this event, which was a form of synergy and partnership between the local government and business actors. He also thanked the speakers, participants, and organizers of the event, who had given support and contribution to the development of investment in Aceh Barat.
“We welcome and appreciate this event, which is one of the efforts to promote the investment potential of Aceh Barat. We hope that this event can be an effective medium of communication and information between the local government and business actors, as well as increase the harmonious and mutually beneficial cooperation and coordination. We also hope that this event can have a positive impact on the development and welfare of the people of Aceh Barat,” said Mahdi.
The event was held successfully, with the attendance of various institutions, among others the Chairman of KADIN Sumatera Utara Firsal Mutyara, representatives of foreign countries such as the Consul General of Singapore Edmund Chia, the Consul General of Germany, the Consul General of China, the Consul General of India, the Consul General of Turkey, the Consul General of Poland, the Consul General of Denmark and the Consul General of the Netherlands. Also present were the President Director of PT KIM Daly Mulyana, the Regional CEO of BSI, Wisnu Sunandar, and several other entrepreneurs from Medan and its surrounding areas.
It is expected that with the holding of this event, the potential in Aceh Barat can be conveyed to prospective investors and business actors who attended, and can encourage sustainable investment to realize Aceh Barat as one of the investment destinations in Aceh.
